Baby Health Care
The first few months of being a Mum with a newborn can mean lots of sleeping and precious quiet times that your little one needs. As your baby grows, you will notice a change in your new routine. I found myself with those little extra spare moments once my baby took more naps and I could relax more too.
Babies need constant around the clock care. One thing that does become a major part of your routine is nappy changes and lots of them! Whether you decide to go with re usable nappies or disposable nappies is up to you. I tried both and it really depends on your routine, I had my favourite brands of nappies and one of them was an eco friendly brand. This means the nappies are biodegradable and better for the environment. Reusable nappies are handy to have on hand in an emergency if you run out of disposable ones. Nappy wipes are also available in eco friendly brands now and I found these the best and most gentle with less unnatural products added to them.
A change table is always handy to have and keeps everything organised. I used a change table that stored the nappies and all the other essentials.
Now you will be giving your baby baths and this time is special for your baby. Its time for them to relax and enjoy those bonding moments with you. I found so many different bath products , but as my child had sensitive skin I always looked for the most naturally made products.
Baby skin care is extremely important. My child suffered with eczema. Sometimes the best chemist store creams will not clear this skin problem . Never leave eczema go untreated , it is a very serious health issue and when the skin becomes itchy, sore and inflamed it can enter a babies blood stream, which can cause an infection and make your baby unwell. Please see a G.P as soon as possible if you feel your babies eczema is not healing and they will diagnose treatment and give you a prescription for an antibiotic and stronger eczema cream (that you cannot buy over the counter) to help clear up and heal the eczema.
Remember when taking your baby out into the sun put a hat on them and apply baby sunscreen SPF 50+.
Here is a list of products that I found helpful.
