Tea and Me, Plus Baby.
I have been a coffee drinker my whole life and it’s usually been my preferred wake up breakfast necessity. Until I found out that I was pregnant. Suddenly, after years of needing a coffee every morning to function, I no longer craved my ritual of morning coffee.
Instead, I preferred tea, usually with honey and milk. It was a favourite and something that got me through the morning sickness and fatigue of pregnancy. I favored a chai tea latte occasionally instead of my usual cafe au latte. Peppermint tea for morning sickness is safe to drink in very moderate amounts.
Caffeine intake during pregnancy should be no more than 200 g per day.
Drinking tea in the morning is a great way to start the day. Adding honey will help boost your immune system during pregnancy.
